HVAC website design for the night the furnace quits
On the first cold night of the year, the calls come from phones in cold houses. The homeowner works down the list until a site loads and someone picks up. WebCore builds your HVAC website to load before they give up on it, then keeps it current all season.
Name it, and it starts building your HVAC site.
The first cold snap sorts HVAC companies in an afternoon
Nobody thinks about their furnace in September. Then one night in October it doesn't come on, and homeowners all over town pick up their phones at once. And they aren't comparing warranties. They call whoever shows a number first, then the next one, until somebody answers.
We measured 25 HVAC websites across Ontario for the September 2026 Web Index. The median one took 8.6 seconds to show its headline on a mid-range phone over slow 4G. That is more than three times the 2.5 seconds Google calls good, and only roofing was slower.
8.6 seconds is a long time to stand in a cold house.
In Google's 2016 study of mobile sites, 53% of visits were abandoned once a page took longer than three seconds to load. The median HVAC site asks a cold homeowner to wait almost three times that long. A site that takes its time is a phone that doesn't ring.
What an HVAC website needs before the season turns
Six things, and most of them are about being ready before the rush instead of scrambling in the middle of it.
Your number, first screen
Tap to call at the top of every page. If you run 24-hour service, say it in the first line, not the third paragraph.
Heating and cooling, page by page
Furnace repair, air conditioning, heat pumps, water heaters and ductwork each get a page. A search for heat pump installation should land on your heat pump page, not your homepage.
Your maintenance plan, sold properly
Plan members are the customers who call you first when something breaks. Give the plan its own page, with what's included and what it costs, so people can sign up without phoning.
Rebate questions, answered
Homeowners ask about rebates before they ask about your price. Keep one page with a plain, current answer, and update it by text when the programs change.
Your registration up front
Your TSSA registration and warranty terms near the top. Letting someone work on a gas appliance is a trust decision, and people check.
Seasonal changes by text
When the weather turns, text your agent to swap the homepage from furnace tune-ups to AC checks. It's done before your coffee goes cold.
Set up in about 15 minutes, before the rush
Name your agent
Give it a name, then tell it about your company: what you install and service, the areas you cover, whether you take emergency calls. It asks about whatever's missing.
Review it, then go live
A site is typically live in about 15 minutes, on your own domain, with the speed and search setup already done.
Text it the changes
“Put the AC tune-up special on the homepage until the end of May” is one message. Your agent makes the change and ships it, with no quote and no ticket queue.
Ghost-Writer, the writing side of your agent, interviews you about real jobs, like the no-heat call on the coldest night of the year, and turns your answers into pages that sound like you because they came from you.
What we measured on HVAC websites in Ontario
The Ontario Trades Web Index runs real trade and clinic websites through Google PageSpeed Insights, the way Google tests a mid-range Android phone on slow 4G. The September 2026 edition measured 146 sites in 13 Ontario towns, and names none of them.
- HVAC: 25 sites, with a median mobile score of 59 out of 100.
- Median time to show the headline on a phone: 8.6 seconds, the second slowest of the six trades.
- 24% of HVAC sites scored poor, which means under 50. Only dental clinics had a higher share.
- Across all 146 sites, the median was 7.0 seconds and 91% took longer than three.
Half the HVAC companies we measured sit on the slow side of an already slow trade. If yours is one of them, start with speed. A new logo on a slow site is still a slow site. Read the full Index.
What HVAC owners ask before they switch
Can you move my current site without breaking what already works?
Yes. We move your pages, copy and URLs onto WebCore, so the addresses Google already knows keep working. Keep your look or ask for a new one. You can price the move in about 30 seconds, no call needed.
What does it cost?
Plans start at $99 a month, cancel anytime, with no $5k build fee up front. SEO and Ghost-Writer are $50 a month each on that plan, or included on Starter at $299. See all plans.
Most of my work comes from referrals. Why bother?
Because referrals look you up before they call. A friend's recommendation gets you a search, and your site decides whether that search turns into a booked visit.
Will it look like every other HVAC site?
Only if you ask it to. Your agent builds from your answers: your service area, your guarantees, your photos. Anything you don't like is one text away from changed.
Get the site ready before the first cold night
The rush comes every year. Name your agent today and your HVAC website can be live well before it does.
