Moving company website design for people comparing quotes
People planning a move usually ask a few companies for a quote in the same week, often from a phone and often at night. WebCore builds your moving company website to load fast, take the quote request on the first screen, and stay current through the busy months.
Name it, and it starts building your moving company site.
Moving quotes are won on the first screen
Every mover gets the same request: a date, two addresses, the size of the home and a question about price. The person sending it has a few companies open in their browser, and the site that makes it easiest is the one they finish.
We measured 53 moving company websites across Ontario for the November 2026 Web Index. The median one took 7.2 seconds to show its headline on a mid-range phone over slow 4G. That is nearly three times the 2.5 seconds Google calls good, even though moving companies were the fifth fastest of the twenty-four trades we measured.
Fifth fastest in Ontario still means 7.2 seconds on a phone.
In Google's 2016 study of mobile sites, 53% of visits were abandoned once a page took longer than three seconds to load. The median moving company site takes more than twice that. Every visitor who leaves is a quote request that went to someone else.
What a moving company website needs to win the quote
Six things, all about turning a visitor with a moving date into a quote request you can answer.
The quote form, first screen
Move date, from, to and home size at the top of the page. Four fields beat a long form, and you can ask the rest when you call back.
Every request in your pipeline
Quote requests land in your WebCore pipeline with the date and addresses attached, so nothing sits in an inbox and you can call back in order.
Questions answered at night
The site chat answers the usual questions, like how your pricing works or whether you move pianos, and takes the quote request while you sleep.
Proof before price
Your insurance, your reviews and real photos of your crew and trucks near the top. People have heard the moving horror stories, and they check before they hand over their furniture.
A page for each move you do
Local moves, long distance, packing, storage and office moves each get a page, and so do the towns you cover. A search for movers in your town should land on that page, not your homepage.
Busy season changes by text
When summer dates start filling, text your agent to say so on the homepage. When it slows down, text it to promote your quieter months.
Set up in about 15 minutes, before the busy months
Name your agent
Give it a name, then tell it about your company: local or long distance, the towns you cover, packing and storage, how you price. It asks about whatever's missing.
Review it, then go live
A site is typically live in about 15 minutes, on your own domain, with the speed and search setup already done.
Text it the changes
“Add a note that June weekends are almost booked” is one message. Your agent makes the change and ships it, with no quote and no ticket queue.
Ghost-Writer, the writing side of your agent, interviews you about real moves, like the piano that went up three flights of stairs, and turns your answers into pages that sound like you because they came from you.
What we measured on moving company websites in Ontario
The Ontario Trades Web Index runs real trade and clinic websites through Google PageSpeed Insights, the way Google tests a mid-range Android phone on slow 4G. The November 2026 edition measured 1,277 sites in 48 Ontario towns, and names none of them.
- Moving companies: 53 sites, with a median mobile score of 61 out of 100.
- Median time to show the headline on a phone: 7.2 seconds, the fifth fastest of the twenty-four trades.
- 11% of moving company sites scored poor, which means under 50: about one in nine.
- Across all 1,277 sites, the median was 8.3 seconds and 93% took longer than three.
Fast for this Index is still slow for a phone. If your site is one of the slower ones, start with speed. A new logo on a slow site is still a slow site. Read the full Index.
What moving company owners ask before they switch
Can you move my current site without breaking what already works?
Yes. We move your pages, copy and URLs onto WebCore, so the addresses Google already knows keep working. Keep your look or ask for a new one. You can price the move in about 30 seconds, no call needed.
What does it cost?
Plans start at $99 a month, cancel anytime, with no $5k build fee up front. SEO and Ghost-Writer are $50 a month each on that plan, or included on Starter at $299. See all plans.
Most of my jobs come from realtors and referrals. Why bother?
Because referrals look you up before they call. A realtor's recommendation gets you a search, and your site decides whether that search turns into a booked move.
Will it look like every other moving site?
Only if you ask it to. Your agent builds from your answers: your towns, your trucks, your crew, your photos. Anything you don't like is one text away from changed.
Get the site ready before the busy months
The busy months come every year. Name your agent today and your moving company website can be live well before they do.
