Durable Alternatives: 5 Options for When You Outgrow the AI Draft

Looking at Durable alternatives? Start with one question: is your Durable site already bringing in calls? If it is, stay. Durable is cheap and fast, and a move means rebuilding your pages. If it isn't, or you've outgrown the AI draft, pick by who does the work. Wix and Squarespace suit owners who want to design it themselves. Hostinger has the lowest sticker price, and 10Web builds on WordPress. WebCore is an AI website agent for owners who'd rather not do the work at all.

WebCore is our platform, and it's on this list. We've tried to be fair to the others, including where they're the better pick. Every price below comes from that platform's own pricing page, checked November 4, 2026.

Durable alternatives at a glance

Here are the sites like Durable that a trades business or clinic would really consider, with Durable's own plan in the first row.

How we compared them

Durable AI website builder alternatives fall into three groups: editors you run yourself, AI builders that hand you a first draft, and an agent that keeps doing the work. For a plumber, a roofer or a dental clinic, the site has one job, which is turning a search into a call. So we compared six things.

  • Who does the work: you, an AI builder or an agent.
  • Speed on a phone. In our Web Index, the median Ontario trade or clinic site took 8.3 seconds to show its headline, and you can test yours with the free website speed test.
  • Search basics: titles, structured data, a sitemap and pages a crawler can read.
  • What happens to a lead once someone fills in your form.
  • What a move costs you. Durable's own comparison pages show no code export, so every option here starts with a rebuild.
  • Price, as each pricing page showed it, in the currency it showed. Intro prices often renew higher.

1. Wix

Wix is a drag-and-drop builder with a free plan that needs no credit card and a big template library. Paid plans start with Light at CA$21 a month and Core at CA$33 (on sale at CA$16.50 when we checked), on its plans page. Wix says its prices are for yearly subscriptions, paid in full when you buy, and that they don't include tax. Every paid plan lists a free domain for a year, and there's a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Compare like for like. Durable's Launch plan lists unlimited booking. Wix lists scheduling and services from Core up, not on Light. We go deeper in how WebCore compares with Wix.

Best for: owners who want to design every page themselves. Watch out for: the building, the SEO work and the updates are yours, and Wix's help centre says its sites have to run on Wix's servers, so leaving later means rebuilding again.

2. Squarespace

Squarespace is the design-first builder: polished templates, built-in AI tools and a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Basic is CA$21 a month billed annually, or CA$30 month to month, and Core is CA$32 billed annually, or CA$45 monthly, on its pricing page. Annual plans include a year of free registration on available domains, and every plan lists SEO tools that guide you through the steps.

Best for: an owner who wants a sharp-looking site and doesn't mind updating it. Watch out for: Basic allows up to 2 contributors, and the SEO work and the updates are still yours.

3. Hostinger Website Builder

Hostinger has the lowest sticker price, and the term is the catch. Its page promises a first version in seconds, then a drag-and-drop editor to customize every detail. Premium was US$1.99 a month on its website builder page, with US$95.52 due today for a 48-month term, and it renews at US$10.99 a month. There's a 14-day free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Best for: the tightest budget, if you're fine signing for 48 months. Watch out for: four years up front, a renewal more than five times the intro price, and building and upkeep that are still on you. Its page was advertising Black Friday offers, so recheck the price before you buy.

4. 10Web

10Web builds WordPress sites with AI, and its homepage says you can start from your old site, your Google profile, a Figma file or just an idea. AI Starter is $10 a month on a yearly subscription, which its pricing page shows as 12 months for $120 against a regular price of $240. AI Premium is $15 and AI Ultimate is $22.50. Starter covers one site and 10K monthly visitors, and every plan includes managed hosting, SSL, daily backups and automatic WordPress updates. Monthly billing costs more.

The trial is 3 days with 5 AI credits, and the 30-day money-back guarantee ends once you claim the free domain.

Best for: owners who want an AI-built site on WordPress, with the hosting and updates handled. Watch out for: that $240 regular price, AI credits (100 a month on Starter), a trial this short, and a full WordPress admin that's more to learn than a simple editor. If you try its old-site start, check every page it rebuilds.

5. WebCore

WebCore by OrbitWeb is an AI website agent for trades and clinics, made in Cambridge, Ontario. You name your agent and tell it about your business, and it builds the site. After that you send it changes by message, and nothing goes live until you publish. Every publish writes pages that search engines and AI assistants can read, with titles, structured data, a sitemap and an llms.txt. Leads from your forms and site chat land in one pipeline, each tagged with where it came from.

Essential is $99 a month. Starter is $299 and adds SEO Lighthouse, which does speed work measured the way Google measures it, and Ghost-Writer, which writes articles in your voice from a short interview. Pro is $799 and Empire is $1,499. The free trial needs no credit card, and you can cancel anytime.

Best for: owners who would rather not do website work and want the site to bring in calls. Watch out for: it costs more than the do-it-yourself builders, with Essential at $99 against Durable's $22 on its yearly option. It's built for local service businesses, not big online stores. And it's new: it went live on October 1, 2026.

When staying on Durable makes sense

If your Durable site already brings in calls, stay. The best Durable alternative is sometimes no move at all. Launch is $25 a month, or $22 on the yearly option. Its pricing page lists a lot for that: secure hosting, unlimited traffic, custom forms, a built-in CRM, automatic replies to leads, unlimited booking synced to your calendar, a free domain up to a $20 value and 1,000 AI credits a month. The free plan lets you try it first, and Durable's homepage promises you can get online in 30 seconds. Speed and price are what Durable does best.

Moving is work, so move for a reason. Stay if you're happy steering the site with AI tools. Check Grow before you leave. It's $49 a month, or $41 on the yearly option, and adds a 1:1 onboarding call with a Durable expert, unlimited team members and 5,000 AI credits a month. Move if you want to control the design, want the lowest sticker price or WordPress underneath, or want someone else doing the ongoing work.

Moving off Durable

Durable doesn't offer code export, going by its own comparison pages, so a move means rebuilding your pages on the new platform. Copy your text, save your photos and export your customer list first. Durable's help centre shows how to download your customer contact list as a CSV file.

Your domain can come with you, with conditions. Durable's pricing page says to get in touch when you cancel and it will arrange the transfer, which takes a couple of weeks and has a minimum subscription time. Its domain transfer policy spells that out: a subscription active for at least three consecutive months, a domain registered through Durable, and no outstanding payments. If your plan is newer than that, expect to wait. So ask about the domain before you cancel the plan.

Keep your page addresses the same where you can, and redirect any that change. If an agency or freelancer looks after your site, talk to them before you move. And if you'd rather not rebuild by hand, you can price a move to WebCore in about 30 seconds.

Durable alternatives questions

What is the best Durable alternative for a small business?

It depends on who will do the work: you in an editor (Wix or Squarespace), the smallest budget (Hostinger), WordPress with AI (10Web) or an agent (WebCore). And if your Durable site is already bringing in calls, the best alternative is often to stay.

What is the cheapest Durable alternative?

On these pricing pages, Hostinger had the lowest sticker price, US$1.99 a month, but only on a 48-month term, and it renews at US$10.99. 10Web starts at $10 a month on a yearly subscription. Wix Light is CA$21 a month billed yearly, before tax, and Wix and Durable both have free plans. Durable's Launch plan is $22 a month, billed yearly. Each price is in the currency its page showed, so compare with care.

Can I move my Durable website to another platform?

Not as a file. Going by Durable's own comparison pages, it has no code export, so you rebuild your pages on the new platform. Your domain can move, but Durable's transfer policy asks for a subscription active for at least three consecutive months and a domain registered through Durable. Your customer list can leave as a CSV file.

Is Durable good for SEO?

It covers the basics. Durable's help centre says every published site gets automatic meta tags, Open Graph tags, AI-written image alt text, a heading structure, internal linking, structured data, a sitemap and a robots.txt file. Launch adds "Advanced SEO & GEO." That's Durable's description, not a ranking test. Rankings also depend on your reviews, your competitors and how fast your pages load on a phone.

Durable vs Wix: which is better for a small business?

They're different tools. Durable builds the site with AI and, on Launch at $22 a month billed yearly, lists a CRM, lead replies and booking. Wix gives you a drag-and-drop editor to design every page yourself, with scheduling and services from Core at CA$33 a month, billed yearly. Pick Durable for a fast AI start, Wix if you'd rather design it yourself. One catch: Wix says its sites have to run on its own servers, so leaving later means another rebuild.

How is WebCore different from Durable?

Both use AI, and Durable's plans list AI agents that publish blogs, collect reviews and research competitors. WebCore is built around one agent that builds the site and changes it from your messages, with nothing live until you publish, and it's made for trades and clinics. It also costs more: Essential is $99 a month against $22 for Durable's Launch, billed yearly. If you're happy running the site yourself with AI help, Durable is the better deal.
